You will find additional information in the web site : www.tours.inra.fr/7ICG The objective of the symposium is to exchange scientific and technical experience of different countries in dairy goat genetic improvement. Topics selected are : milk recording, genetic evaluation and, selection and objectives schemes. Related sessions and round tables of the International Conference on Goats are : genetics and selection, transgenesis and goat genome. You can, of course, make contributions to these or other sessions in addition to your invited contribution to the symposium. For the Symposium, you have 30 minutes for your presentation (in english or french) A 1 page summary of your presentation must be submitted by the end of september, corrections to authors will be send back by middle november and editors want the corrected papers by middle december. This summary will be published in the International Conference book. Full papers (4 to 6 pages recommended) must be submitted before january 30, 2000. They will be distributed to attendants to the Symposium in May 2000. The format required for papers is given in the web site. Dates and places The International Goat Conference is at Tours from may14 to may 18 Technical visits are on may 19 (you may choose visiting the Breeders'Association and AI center at Poitiers but other visits are= possible) The symposium is on may 20 (saturday) at Poitiers Official letters to invited speakers will be sent by middle october. Please let me know if your adress in the top of the page is correct. Registration costs for the International Conference are given in the web site. Costs for the Symposium are 0 for invited speakers. Hotel accomodations (1 night at Poitiers) and meals (may 20) are free for invited speakers. Due to budgetary restrictions, the organization pays only half of the travel expenses of invited speakers up to 600 dollars (not valid for French invited speakers).
